Acquisitions

AI and tech acquisitions, and what happened to the product

This page tracks acquisitions, acquihires and talent-plus-license deals in AI and tech, newest first, grouped by month. It starts in May 2026.

The headline is the least useful part of a deal. What I want to know is what happens to the product the next morning. Does it keep running, go read-only, get folded into the buyer, or shut down? Is there an export button, and a date after which my data is gone?

Where the startup published its own shutdown notice or changelog, I link that first. Price is only listed when someone disclosed it. Funding rounds and patent-only deals are not here.

64 deals · May 2026 to November 2026 · updated 5 November 2026

The big ones

9 deals here are over a billion dollars, or reported to be. Newest first.

Two more matter as much as those and nobody put a number on them. Meta buying Conductor and Cloudflare buying Deno are the kind of deal where the buyer wants the thing developers already reach for, not a revenue line.

Factory plans to bring multiplayer tasks and shared plan editing into its own product.
