Update on the 2025 Bootcamp

Time to tell you some news about the next cohort of the Full-Stack Web Development Bootcamp.

If you’re subscribed to the newsletter you already know all of this, but here’s all the info for anyone who’s not subscribed.

If you’re new here, you should know that I have organized the Bootcamp, a cohort course, every year since 2020.

We had 5 cohorts so far: 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024.

Thousands of people joined the course over the years, and it’s been a huge catalyst of change for many people, helping them break through the industry, find a job, or just level up their knowledge about Web Development.

The next edition will start next February 2025 but of course I’m already working on it, because preparing a Bootcamp requires an incredible effort.

Especially because this will be the biggest (and best) edition ever.

Every edition I learn new things about what works and what could be improved. And each year I revise the curriculum to make it better and better.

I want to keep you in the loop with what I’m doing.

If you’re a web developer or aspire to become one, I think I’ll have something very interesting for you in the upcoming cohort.

The Bootcamp will be a huge resource if you’re learning to code, but not just that.

Even if you’re already working as a web developer, it’s not easy to keep up with everything in the typescript web development world, and the Bootcamp will be a huge help in figuring everything out, and having a clear idea of all the tech involved.

It’s not just a boring “learn to code” course.

It’s a resource that I think will be very useful throughout your whole career as a Web Developer.

But it’s more than that—it’s also a community of people, all aspiring to get better at programming.

I’m re-doing all the curriculum from scratch to be the perfect resource for you.

In particular, we’ll be doing hands-on work with TypeScript, Node/Deno/Bun, SQL databases and ORMs, Vite, Astro, React, Next.js, Remix, TanStack * (Router, Query, Start)

…and much more!

The bootcamp will be filled with tons of projects, from API servers using Express and Hono to handling authentication, and handling state, to creating highly interactive frontend experiences, and I’ll show the process from zero to deployment on different platforms.

This new edition will be very different from any I’ve done in the past.

In particular, the past three years were “vertical” on a specific tech stack (Next.js in 2022-23, Astro in 2024), while the next edition will transition to being more horizontal, and cover more than just a single stack.

The web development landscape has always been very fragmented.

We’ll focus on TypeScript only, frontend and backend (that’s already a great filter so we can focus on a narrowed number of libraries and tools) but lately, in the JS/TS landscape, things have been evolving a lot, for example, there’s no just one server runtime any more: Deno and Bun are valid Node.js alternatives, and each is great in their own peculiar way.

You can’t just “know one” I think, if you want to be a competent web developer you have to know them all and understand when one is a better option over the others.

Same with all the React frameworks.

And of course, there are many React alternatives, too.

So, I’m hard at work preparing all the training for this new Bootcamp.

It will be a ton of fantastic projects, demos, and lessons.

In the process, I’m also reorganizing the YouTube channel.
